NHS appointment: Consultant Anaesthetist, University Hospitals of Leicester
Dr Wood is a specialist Consultant Anaesthetist, who regularly anaesthetises for Ophthalmic lists in the NHS, as well as other complex cases. He is skilled in providing local anaesthetic blocks, as well as providing monitored sedation throughout a procedure. He is up to date with all mandatory training, including advanced life support.
He has completed post-graduate research, obtaining a Masters degree (University of Leicester) and has reviewed research articles for the British Journal of Anaesthesia.
Dr Wood has authored a number of papers and educational articles published in the British Journal of Anaesthesia (BJA) and e-learning (Anaesthesia training). Dr Wood has also written book chapters in Anaesthesia textbooks. He is also an examiner of the FRCA qualification for the Royal College of Anaesthetists (RCOA), one of only 85 in the country.
